International Noise Awareness Day
“In the long term, noise causes hearing loss—and hearing loss itself is detrimental to our health and well-being.” - Center for Hearing and Communication
International Noise Awareness Day (INAD) was established by the Center for Hearing and Communication (CHC) to raise awareness about the harmful effects of noise on hearing, health, and quality of life.
Industrial workplaces are typically notoriously unsafe sound environments. A steel roof, concrete floors, and industrial machinery can add up to harsh acoustical surroundings.
According to the CDC, being around too much loud noise can make you lose your hearing — and once it’s gone, you can’t get it back.
Fortunately, there are acoustic solutions to this type of environment that can increase sound absorption, creating a safer workplace.
Installing specialized ceiling baffles made with sound-absorbing material can dramatically improve the noise levels in an industrial environment. Workers experience less detrimental hearing impact, and the space gains better sound quality for conversations, music, and the overall atmosphere.
